CUIDADO E PREVENÇÃO: PRIMEIROS SOCORROS NA ROTINA ESCOLAR DA EDUCAÇÃO INFANTIL
Abstract
This study analyzes the preparedness of basic education teachers to respond to emergencies involving children, with emphasis on knowledge and skills related to first aid in the Brazilian school context. The objective was to discuss, in light of the scientific literature, the existing gaps in teacher training for dealing with emergency situations and to identify educational strategies capable of strengthening safety in the school environment. This is a literature review, carried out using academic databases. The results indicate that many teachers have limited knowledge of basic first aid procedures, which can compromise the adequate response to common emergency situations in the school environment. In this context, the strategic role of nursing professionals in promoting educational actions and in the articulation between the health and education sectors is highlighted. It is also observed that initiatives such as periodic training, emergency simulations, and the implementation of Law No. 13.722/2018 (Lucas Law) contribute to increasing teachers' confidence and competence in initial emergency response. It is concluded that the systematic incorporation of first aid content into the initial and continuing training of teachers constitutes a fundamental measure to strengthen safety and care in the school environment.
