Abstract

This article addresses the challenges and strategies in implementing the Integrity Program at the Federal Institute of Alagoas (IFAL) in response to the demands for transparency and ethics in public educational institutions. The identified problem pertains to resistance to change, cultural barriers, and administrative decentralization, which hinder the full adoption of compliance and governance practices within the institution. To overcome these challenges, IFAL has adopted measures such as conducting training sessions, forming integrity committees, and intensifying internal communication efforts aimed at engaging staff and promoting an organizational culture that values ethics. The documentary analysis of the Integrity Plan revealed progress but also highlighted the need for continuous adjustments to adapt strategies to local specificities and new regulatory demands. The conclusions indicate that, despite the advancements, the success of the program depends on the institutional commitment to staff training, the use of indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of actions, and the strengthening of an open dialogue environment. The study contributes to the discussion on promoting integrity in public educational institutions and offers recommendations that may assist in improving governance practices.
