Abstract

This study explores the implementation of chatbots with artificial intelligence (AI) in the educational context, highlighting their characteristics, functionalities, challenges, and opportunities. Based on the project "Expanding Horizons: Exploring Chatbots as a Pedagogical Tool in Teaching and Learning" from the Federal Institute of Triângulo Mineiro (IFTM), the study presents a critical and descriptive analysis of the use of chatbots, promoting a dialogue among various authors and researchers in the field. The adopted methodology included a qualitative, descriptive approach from an interpretative perspective, complemented by the Systematic Literature Review method. Data collection was carried out through the retrieval of articles from renowned databases, such as SciELO-BRASIL, scientific journals in the field of Education, and periodicals with QUALIS CAPES ranking. Data analysis was conducted using the content analysis technique. The study concludes with considerations that encourage the reader to deepen their knowledge on the subject.
