ACESSIBILIDADE SENSORIAL: O IMPACTO DO DESIGN ACÚSTICO NA EXPERIÊNCIA DE PESSOAS COM TEA

Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) involves challenges in communication and sensory processing, where auditory hypersensitivity can transform the built environment into a source of stress. This article investigates the intersection between acoustic design and inclusion, seeking solutions that optimize the environmental experience and promote autonomy. The methodology consisted of a literature review in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, focusing on autism and inclusive design. Data analysis allowed for the structuring of effective strategies for creating neurodiverse spaces. The results highlight the relevance of reverberation control, the selection of absorbent finishes, and the implementation of sensory refuge zones and low-stimulus areas essential for user self-regulation. Furthermore, the importance of intuitive layouts in reducing anxiety is emphasized. It is concluded that sensory accessibility, enabled by acoustic design, is an indispensable tool for mitigating environmental barriers. The study provides technical parameters for designers, emphasizing that the suitability of the sound environment is a determining factor for health and the effective social inclusion of people with ASD in various everyday contexts.
